Buzick Construction’s long-standing partnership with Buffalo Trace continues to evolve as part of the distillery’s sweeping $1.2 billion infrastructure investment—one of the most ambitious in American whiskey history. Constructed on the 292-acre farm adjacent to the historic distillery campus, Buzick executed the construction 18 new barrel warehouses. Each seven-story, metal-clad structure was built with traditional wooden floors and engineered to hold 58,800 barrels, contributing to a system that will ultimately house more than one million barrels of aging whiskey on-site.

The scale of the project is only matched by its technological distinction. Unlike conventional aging facilities, Buffalo Trace’s warehouses were built with a proprietary, floor-integrated dual-zone heating system, allowing each warehouse to independently regulate temperature. This breakthrough design advances the distillery’s pursuit of flavor consistency and product integrity, marrying time-honored craftsmanship with forward-thinking precision.
